Reberland Equipment, Inc. in Apple Creek, Ohio began making vacuum fire trucks in 1985 at the request of a local department who observed our industrial vacuum units working and recognized it was an easier, more efficient way to address the two main concerns for urban/rural fire departments, lack of personnel and lack of water. In order to do this, Larry Reber joined his local department so he would know how to address these concerns. Larry's approach to fire service was unencumbered by the paradigms of the past. After careful research to determine safety, adaptability, quality, serviceability, versatility and performance, a basic design was established. After patents were in place the product was introduced.
Today we manufacture a full line of Vacuum Tankers, Tenders, Pumper/Tankers. There are hundreds of units providing reliable service and units in different stages of production. Each unit is custom built for the needs of the customer. Chassis features such as GVWR, Transmission, Grade Ability, Tire Size, Frame Strength, etc. are paired with terrain to optimize performance potential. Likewise, apparatus features are chosen to provide the best performance and to meet the Department's needs. Our dealer network is growing and service is provided in all areas of the United States. We strive to not only build a superior product in performance, but to build a durable product requiring minimum service and maintenance.
Firovac™ Power Systems has continued to expand operations to keep up with the increased demand. Our skilled cross trained employees strive to provide prompt individual attention to our customers be it sales, manufacturing, finances or service. Our objective is to supply futuristic technology to equip firefighters with lifesaving water for fire suppression in non-hydrant areas.
Larry F. Reber, President
Always a visionary, Larry F. Reber, President, is the innovator of the first vacuum apparatus specifically for fire service. Quality, serviceability, and efficiency were primary in the design along with “user friendly” performance. It soon became evident to him and others that vacuum was the answer to quicker and easier drafting and delivering of water without the needless expenditure of pumpers or additional personnel because it self-loads quickly and can tap into often normally unusable water sources. Larry continues to design the trucks as well as new products and oversees the day to day operations. He is very involved with customers, sales, dealers, shows and demonstrations.
Benjamin Lewis, Vice President Manufacturing
With over seventeen years of service, Ben Lewis is knowledgeable in all aspects of the product. His engineering experience enables him to address the needs and requests of the individual fire departments by working closely with them. He is responsible for manufacturing and quality control. EVT certified, he is able to direct the service not only of Firovac™ units but others as well. His sales skills present a straightforward approach to the product by informing potential buyers of the performance, features, mechanics and efficiencies of the unit.
Timothy Griffin, Engineer
