This keynote will be a discussion on the process and planning of succession in the fire service because, while it is extensive, the overall practice is absent. Brush believes that true succession will not be accomplished until the vision of it is shifted from organizational projects to personal goals. When goals are focused on tangible accomplishments from the past that are measured in the present, the gauge of influence is what was left behind.
