John Dixon is a 20+-year of the fire service, currently serving as a career fire officer with an urban fire department in New Jersey. He has earned his Fire Officer (FO) credentials from the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Training Officer (TO) credentials from the International Society of Fire Service Instructors and is a National Fire Academy Alumni. Dixon has a passion for training, mentoring, and inspiring up-and-coming officers and firefighters. He has served as an Instructor with the Bergen County Fire Academy, is a member of Project Kill the Flashover, and currently serves as the New Jersey State Lead Advocate for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Dixon believes that his time as a U.S. Marine engrained several fundamental fire service principles—discipline, education, and servant leadership. He has presented at international, national and regional conferences, including Firehouse Expo, Firehouse World, the International Fire Rescue Training Academy (Germany), South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo, Ohio Fire & EMS Expo, FDIC, the Center for Public Safety Excellence Conference, and the South Carolina Fire Rescue Conference.
