Heather Maykel is the first responder lead at 15-40 Connection. In her role, she develops partnerships and programs that expand the reach of 15-40 Connection’s 3 Steps Detect Early Cancer Detection education to members of the fire service. Her role involves travelling to fire departments to deliver training programs, as well as meeting with parties within the fire service to increase awareness of the power of early cancer detection. Maykel is working to develop an e-Learning system to deliver the 3 Steps Detect program and related content digitally as part of an initiative being funded through a FEMA Firefighter Safety and Prevention grant.
