James L. Jester is a volunteer assistant chief with the Ocean City (MD) Fire Department and a career assistant chief with the Salisbury (MD) Fire Department. He is an instructor for the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute, specializing in Firefighter Safety & Survival and the Rescue Technician disciplines. He is a Special Operations Team Leader and has served multiple stints as a Training Officer. He has been published in multiple fire-service related magazines and has lectured for the Maryland State Firemen’s Association and Firehouse Expo.
