Robert J. Faas Jr. is a career captain with Montgomery County, MD, Fire Rescue, with 31 years of experience in the fire service. He is a member of Maryland Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team, a hazmat officer on the county Hazardous Incident Response Team, TRT member for the county Technical Rescue Team as well as an instructor at the Public Safety Training Academy. Faas is also currently serving as the vice president of F.O.O.L.S. International. He is an instructor for On Scene Training Associates LLC and has served with several fire companies. Faas was part of a committee in the State of New Hampshire that was responsible for the development of the state RIT program. He also was part of the committee that developed the RIT program for Montgomery County Fire Rescue and was one of the committee members responsible for the redevelopment of the Maryland Fire Rescue Institute Safety and Survival Program.
