Lt. Jarred R. Alden is a member of The Akron Fire Department. He formerly functioned as the Assistant Arson Bureau Manager for the Department. He has worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic for 18+ years and a Tactical SWAT Medic for The Akron Police Department for 12+ years. He also functioned as a rescue/recovery SCUBA diver for the Department's Dive Team. Lt. Alden lectures at various conferences such as the ITLS Trauma Conference, the Journal of EMS (JEMS) Conference for EMS Today and FDIC. Lt. Alden was a former sociology instructor at The University of Akron. His interests in research include, but are not limited to the following: Explosives & Blast Injuries, Rescue Task Force, SWAT/TEMS, Human Behavior, and SABA for police officers. Lt. Alden also instructs behavioral science and scene safety course with Six Layer Concepts and Consulting.
