Thomas Anderson has been in the fire service for 17 years, most of which he was assigned to various positions on ladder companies, from tailboard, to company officer. Anderson has a passion for aggressive, efficient truck work, and has remained a student of the craft for his entire career. He worked in departments. ranging from small rural volunteer, to a large municipality with more than 40 stations. Anderson is currently assigned to the training division in the Charlotte, NC, Fire Department, where he has been since early 2021. He has a bachelor of science degree in fire administration from Gardner Webb University. He is the lead search instructor for Insight Fire Training, a company that specializes in tactical thermal imaging on the fireground, and has had the privilege to present thermal imaging and search courses at various departments and conferences across the U.S.
