Chris Sturtz is a 16-year veteran of the fire service, currently serving as a captain at West Licking Fire District in Pataskala, OH. Station 402 is an engine and medic house, but on its grounds, they have a 1,500 sq.-ft. Cape Cod style house with a full basement and a six-container burn building. Sturtz has been tasked with providing the monthly fire trainings for all of West Licking fire members for two years. In a day in age where online training and virtual reality training is coming on strong, Sturtz doesn’t want the fire service to lose sight of realistic, hands-on, physically demanding training. He values physical fitness and is a past grand national champion in the firefighter combat challenge.
