Shawn Corder is the assistant chief of the Rosser, TX, Volunteer Fire Department, the same department where his father also served. His professional career started at the age of 19, where he served at a combination fire department in Seagoville, TX. A short while later, in 1995, he was employed by the City of Arlington, where he currently holds the rank of lieutenant and serves as a lead instructor for the fire department. Corder is also employed at Tarrant County College, where he teaches Instructor and Fire Officer classes. He has also been involved for 12 years in the wildland firefighting service with the Texas Interstate Mutual Aide System and has been on several assignments. Corder obtained his firefighter certification and associates in fire science.
