Mary Ann Township Fire Dept.
Keisha Amspaugh is a 17-year veteran of the fire service, currently serving as the fire chief of Mary Ann Township Fire Department in Newark, OH. She is a paramedic, active in the peer support team for the area, an EMS instructor and was voted one of the “20 under 40” local young leaders for the county. Amspaugh is an accomplished grant writer for fire and EMS grants for fire departments and has been promoted to every rank in the fire department. She still holds the position of EMS coordinator and after the tragedy of losing her best friend and chief to Covid-19 in 2021, she was promoted to the rank of fire chief. Amspaugh says being one of the first female assistant chiefs and the first female fire chief has been both rewarding and daunting. She was recently promoted into the interim Fire Chief position at Buckeye Lake Village Fire from the assistant chief seat and is looking forward to making positive changes and moving the organization forward.
