This is a two part HOT class that is designed to show firefighters techniques to remove firefighters from Mayday situations that are trapped in elevated positions. Firefighters are shown various skills to remove firefighters who have fallen through roofs or between elevated interior floors. Techniques included activating RIT teams and their role in assisting rescue, knowing what tools can be effective, and knowing techniques for using them. Firefighters are taught removal skills based on various depths firefighters have fallen and how to use non- verbal communication if necessary. After removal from the elevated entrapment, firefighters are also taught techniques on removing firefighters from elevated positions using various pieces of equipment such as bailout bags, webbing and roof ladders.
