| Firehouse Expo 2008 provides six days of education, exhibits and fire industry events which address today’s realities facing the fire and emergency services. Over 16,000 professionals will attend this year, making this the largest event of its kind on the East Coast. |
For 25 years Firehouse Expo has successfully delivered topical education to enable industry professionals to perform their jobs more effectively. Often times this information is defined by industry events that force us to seek out solutions for prevention of future disasters. Firehouse Expo will feature many of these events. Gordon Routley, Chief Shreveport, LA, (ret.), Project Team Leader, Charleston Post-Incident Assessment and Enhancement Review Task Force By the time the fire was brought under control on June 18, 2007, nine firefighters lost their lives. This was the greatest single loss of firefighters in the United States since the collapse of the World Trade Center. Come and hear the latest developments surrounding this disaster. | | Mike McNamee, District Chief; Kevin Maloney, Captain, Worcester Fire Department, Worcester, MA A compelling presentation that reviews the dramatic changes instituted by the Worcester Fire Department following the tragic line-of-duty deaths of six firefighters in a vacant cold storage warehouse in 1999.
| | James Clack, Fire Chief, Baltimore, MD FD On August 1, 2007, a major highway collapsed in Minneapolis during rush hour, killing 13 people and injuring over 100 others. | | Steve Kalman, Deputy Chief, Hackensack, NJ, FD Five firefighters from Hackensack, NJ, were killed on July 1, 1988, when a wooden bow-string truss roof collapsed on them while fighting a fire at an automobile dealership.
