FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROCHESTER HILLS, Michigan – July 16, 2010 – Azure Solutions announces that it will offer the IFEX impulse fire extinguishing technology in North America.

Impulse fire extinguishing technology can utilize only compressed air and water to extinguish or knock down fires very rapidly. Requiring no pumps, the IFEX backpack and gun are compact, lightweight and mobile, facilitating rapid initial attack and quick fire knockdown by shooting small droplets of water at high velocity. Secondary damage to structures and contents are minimized and electrical hazards are eliminated due to the use of the relatively small quantity of water and small droplet size.

While typically deployed in the backpack form factor, IFEX is available in a wide variety of options, that include trolleys, skids and cannons for conversion of existing vehicles, motorcycle, ATV and electric vehicles for rapid mobile attack, helicopter skids and fixed and tunnel systems. Larger capacities for water and compressed air are available with the larger systems. IFEX can also use most fire extinguishing agents, including wetting agents, biosolve, foaming additives and salt- and unfiltered water.

At the heart of the IFEX technology is the use of pressurized air to discharge the fire fighting agent at high velocity, which, coupled with air resistance, reduces water droplet size to the point where the total cooling surface area of the water is increased ten fold. The smaller water droplets discharged at a higher velocity also enables a greater amount of water to reach the base of the fire.

“With IFEX’s unique capabilities, advantages and proven success across the world, we are very excited to offer it in North America. We have already begun testing the system with one of the United States’ largest fire departments and the results have been very impressive. We look forward to introducing this exciting and worthwhile technology to other departments across the US, Canada and Mexico.,” said Scott Krakauer, vice president of Azure Solutions.

“As a firefighter myself, I was somewhat skeptical about IFEX’s claims about the speed at which it could knock down a fire using compressed air and such a small amount of water. However, the testing that we have performed went far beyond our expectations and confirms why IFEX is in use in over sixty countries. The ability to rapidly control a fire with IFEX is truly remarkable,” continued Krakauer.
