Sign up to attend a new NVFC National Junior Firefighter Academy
Saturday, July 24 beginning at 9:00 AM - Noon
This special event for junior firefighters (ages 13-18) and program advisers will present a unique opportunity for you to meet people actively working in the fire service and to see products, services and technologies used to keep our cities safe.
The National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program has partnered with Firehouse Expo, Spartan Motors, Inc., and California Casualty, to provide two sessions:
Junior Firefighter Educational Session (limited to 75 students)
- Special welcome by Jeff Cash
- National Junior Firefighter Program Overview with Rachel Higginbotham
- Youth Leadership Panel with Michelle Carilli and Jay Stanton
- Youth-Led Activity Ideas with Mike Barnett
- Your Future in the Fire Service with Steve Carter, UMUC and Bob Timko
- Fire Service Legislation for Youth with Dave Finger
- Closing Remarks by Jeff Cash
Program Advisers Educational Session (limited to 50 advisers)
- Special welcome by Mike Barnett (Elkridge VFD program advisor)
- National Junior Firefighter Program Overview with Heather Schafer
- Building Youth Leadership with Jeff Cash
- Getting Youth Involved in the Legislative Process with Dave Finger
- Activity Ideas withMike Barnett

Jr. Firefighters:
- Cost is $10 per person ($15 after June 18).
- Fill out and return this registration form and liability waiver. (Please note: You will NOT be registered until the liability waiver has been signed and returned.)
- Your badge will give you entry to the NVFC Junior Firefighter Academy as well as the Exhibit Floor and Family Fun & Flea Market.
Advisers:
- Register online at www.FirehouseExpo.com.
- If you are planning on attending just the Jr. Firefighter Academy, register for a 3-day exhibit hall pass. Cost will be $10 per person ($15 after June 18).
- If you are planning on attending other portions of the conference, there will not be an additional fee for the academy.
- Once registered, please email your name to registration@cygnusexpos.com to let us know that you will be participating in the Program Advisers Educational Session.
