Kathy Gerstner
Fire Program Specialist, USFA


speaker photoKathy Gerstner has been with FEMA for 22 years. She currently manages USFA's public fire education program and has held this position for over 10 years. Prior to serving as the public fire education program manager, Ms. Gerstner served for 6 years in USFA's National Fire Data Center. Her past includes positions as an education specialist at the National Fire Academy and the Emergency Management Institute in both the Hazardous Materials and Radiological Emergency Preparedness training programs. She also taught kindergarten and was a substitute teacher in the Frederick County Maryland school system. Ms. Gerstner was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the Maryland suburbs. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She currently resides in Fairfield, PA.
